We've given a great, big hug to our Goodyear welted boot design. 

The result is "A Softly Serious Boot".

A Softly Serious has the same lofty stature as our previous Seriouses, but is more comfortable from the off, thanks to a super light Vibram Morflex sole and a flexible 3mm leather midsole.

It means little-to-no breaking-in required and a surprising feeling of cloudy bounce for such a proper Goodyear welted construction. Goodyear is probably THE highest quality construction technique in shoemaking, allowing for a secure bond between sole and upper and ease of sole replacement when it eventually wears down (and we understand that replacing this Morflex sole is quite a familiar practice to most good cobblers, not least because Red Wings have worked with the same sole for years). 

This "Black" is our second colour of Softly Boot, following our release of the "Ash" last year. The Black come with a black leather welt, black leather midsole, and black EVA outsole. 

It's really rather totally black (except for our signature tan stitch down the spine of the heel). 

The leather is smooth, soft, waxy Bullskin from Germany, milled for extra softness but nonetheless robust and water-friendly.
