Kitten Testicle Grey has been our best-seller, since 2012, and has proven itself on smutty urban streets everywhere, from Berlin to Shanghai, London to New York.

Handmade from velvety soft nubuck leather and fully lined with luscious calfskin, it’s as soft as a kitten’s nik-naks* and comfortable as slippers.

• Feels truly lovely - the silky calfskin lining and nubuck upper guarantee footgasms galore
• Is long-lasting; the natural rubber sole is dense and won't need repair or replacement for years (although repair and replacement are ultimately possible). 
• Has a durable nubuck upper, stronger than suede, despite the similar velvety feeling. 
• Is relatively easy to care for; it's already the colour of dirt so will look pretty much the same after exposure to dust and grub. 
• Will keep your feet dry, although it is helpful to spray the nubuck with "impregnierung" or rain protective spray in advance of wearing it in the rain. Please note - this is an open leather, so it may attain water marks with use, but the function of the leather will not be compromised by water.  
• Is the proud work of very talented shoemakers - you can see their care and precision in particular in the traditional blake stitch on the sole
• Is lovingly debossed with the words ICH BIN ATHEIST
• Looks awesome with different coloured laces

* we don’t remember how the shoe got its name, but we do know that we were drunk and we had a grey rental kitten at the time.

This particular batch is a very good vintage, though we can’t say it’s 100% perfect (not that we’ve ever made a perfect shoe). We’re selling it as “A-minus-ware” for our German-speaking friends - not quite B-ware. And “first-and-a-halfs”, rather than “seconds”, for everyone else.

It means we have slight doubts as to whether small aesthetic imperfections may arise in a few of the pairs. For example, we saw in two pairs, from an original batch of 90, that the sole slightly separated from the upper before its time - just in one or two spots, and nothing major. Totally still wearable and repairable, though these cases weren’t bad enough to warrant repair.

Nonetheless, we’re doing the right thing and making the assumption that any of the batch could have a similar issue, and we’re reducing the price accordingly. The risk would be yours (no returns on these kitties, unless you need a different size), but we think it’s a worthwhile gamble and most (or probably all) customers will simply end up with comfy and cherished shoes for less money.
