Matt, durable, water-friendly and timeless, DAS SCHWARZE BOOT is handmade from bull leather, tanned in the West of Germany. 

It feels like the perfect lovechild of our DAS BLACK BOOT and our (now retired) DAS MATT BLACK. A little less sheeny than the former, a lot more comfortable than the latter; an elegant wardrobe staple; a willing everyday companion; a black labrador of shoes.  

Compared to our other boots, it takes a couple of wears to break in - testimony to the seriousness of the leather involved - but it quickly softens up to the usual stratospheric levels of ATHEIST comfort.

- handmade in Portugal, with heaps of care, by good people who've worked together for 30 years and with us for 10 

- crafted with German leather, from a 130 year old family-run tannery, renowned for their high standards where the environment, animal welfare and employee working conditions are concerned

- bottomed with a dense rubber sole that is both flexible and durable, and embossed with our ICH BIN ATHEIST motif
