Behold, our blackest ever sneaker!

It's still not entirely black (given neither the calfskin lining, nor our signature stitch on the heel, are that darkest of possible not-an-actual-colour colours).

But it's still incredibly black; black sole, black laces and smooth, hardy, black, German bull leather, tanned in the far West of Germany.

Incredibly black?

Yes, we're pretty sure this new sneaker is about as dark black as being in bed at 2am, fumbling for the light switch, with your eye mask still on.

The leather is produced to the TerraCare® standard, which ensures highest possible consideration for the environment, animal welfare and employee working conditions.

It's a little thicker than leather we've used for sneakers in the past, so you may find it takes a few wears to soften up to the atheist levels of comfort you may be familiar with - but it does break in nicely and it's also the first leather in our collection which we can say is officially "waterproof".

To cap it all off, this sneaker has been handmade with oodles of care by our (insert appropriate collective noun) of shoemakers, in Portugal, who are really a nice bunch of humans and are grateful, as are we, that you support their work.

green measuring tape - Atheist Shoes

Begin by finding out the length of your foot in cm (see the graphic below on how to do that), then calculate your European size, according to this formula:

SIZE = 1.5 X (FOOT LENGTH IN CM + 1.5)

That means, if your foot length is 28.5cm, you should add 1.5, to give you 30. Then multiply 30 by 1.5, to give you a European Shoe Size of 45 (assuming you don't have a very wide foot, in which case you might want to consider going up one size to 46).
