We've given a great, big hug to our Goodyear welted boot design. 

The result is A Softly Serious Boot.

A Softly Serious has the same lofty stature as our previous Seriouses, but is more comfortable from the off, thanks to a super light Vibram Morflex sole and a flexible 3mm leather midsole (whereas the original Serious has 4.5mm). 

It means little-to-no breaking-in required and a surprising feeling of cloudy bounce for such a proper Goodyear welted construction. Goodyear is probably THE highest quality construction technique in shoemaking, allowing for a secure bond between sole and upper and ease of sole replacement when it eventually wears down (and replacing this Morflex sole is quite a familiar practice to any good cobbler, not least because Red Wings have worked with the same sole for years). 

The leather is soft, luscious German nubuck, from the Heinen tannery; robust despite its velvety finish (indeed "waterproof", say the tannery). It's waxy to the touch and milled for extra softness. 

To launch, we're offering just one colour of upper leather - ash brown. They come with a tan leather welt, tan leather midsole, and black EVA outsole.
