This is the charming little brother of DAS COGNAC BOOT, made from the same gorgeously waxy "pull-up", full-grain* leather but in the form of a low-top, so that you may show off your (no doubt) beautiful ankles or socks!

Pull-up leather is so called because, when pulled or stressed, the oils or waxes cause the colour to migrate and become lighter in certain areas. This video illustrates nicely.

Using a pull-up leather means that little marks and scratches will appear on the shoe as you wear it, creating a beautiful and unique patina. But what’s truly impressive is that massaging the leather causes the marks to fade away and the original appearance of the leather to be restored.

This shoe boasts the same lusciously soft calfskin lining as all our shoes… so it’s just as perversely comfortable. And it’s finished with our traditional, super-durable, rubber, ICH BIN ATHEIST sole. Jawohl!

*Full grain leather is the highest quality there is, made from the topmost layer of the hide, and including all of the natural grain. Its fibres are strong and durable, but nonetheless breathable. And the surface is varied and unique, with a variety of the natural imperfections and marks that tell the story of the cow’s life. As it ages, it burnishes and beautifies, developing a gorgeous patina and unique appearance that in turn tells the story of how the shoes have lived. This leather only becomes more beautiful and more comfortable with wear.

    green measuring tape - Atheist Shoes

    Begin by finding out the length of your foot in cm (see the graphic below on how to do that), then calculate your European size, according to this formula:

    SIZE = 1.5 X (FOOT LENGTH IN CM + 1.5)

    That means, if your foot length is 28.5cm, you should add 1.5, to give you 30. Then multiply 30 by 1.5, to give you a European Shoe Size of 45 (assuming you don't have a very wide foot, in which case you might want to consider going up one size to 46).
